We believe that every day of a child's educational journey should engage, motivate and inspire them, and this is especially true as children begin their educational journey!

On our beautiful school campus, we provide the very best curriculum and learning opportunities for our young students. Subject specialists begin teaching in kindergarten, and we motivate students to take pride and pleasure in their accomplishments in an environment of honesty and personal accountability. Our comprehensive program and exceptional faculty and staff
help students discover, develop and enjoy their unique talents.

Spanish is introduced in EK and continues in grade 1 with the focus on developing listening skills and oral language, reflecting the way children acquire their first language. Songs and games are utilized as learning tools. In grade 2, more emphasis is placed on oral proficiency.

Every Egremont student is respected as a valuable human being, and every student is expected to extend that same respect to others. Kindness, respect and integrity permeate daily campus life and have formed the heart of an Egremont education since the school was founded in 1935. We expect our students to follow the codes of honesty and personal accountability.

Structured lessons are also part of the comprehensive character development included in the Egremont educational experience.

The library is a place where students have access to print, audio-visual, and electronic data. In addition to using the library for pleasure reading and homework assignments, the students are taught library skills and are introduced to the best of children's literature.

In second grade, map skills are reinforced and expanded. Visual images of lands and people as well as folklore, legends, history and customs from England, Egypt, Japan and The United States are studied. Timelines are used to record relevant dates denoting contributions of inventors, women and other leaders. Voting rights, current events, and public speaking are also important components of the curriculum. Holidays and cultural traditions celebrated around the world are explored.
