We believe that a child's first formal school experience must be a happy one. Egremont creates a warm and caring atmosphere in a separate early kindergarten section of the campus that includes spacious classrooms and its own playground area. Here, each child is encouraged to develop according to his or her own readiness.

The early kindergarten learning experience seeks to prepare children for the school years ahead. Acquisition of new skills and works are celebrated by both the school and parents as children master the challenges that are a normal part of the learning process.

The early kindergarten program encompasses language arts, reading readiness, mathematics, science, art/music/movement, development of social and personal skills, computer knowledge, physical education, and foreign language (Spanish).

Upon leaving EK, students feel confident following oral directions, identifying and recognizing colors, shapes, numbers, and letters. They also exhibit a mastery of writing numbers and letters in English and Spanish. Recognizing phonemic sounds and communicating positively with peers and adults are fostered in our EK program. Children learn to respect themselves and others in group situations.
